Here are the important points: Wireless - Free, works, good signal strength, ~1Mbps speed. Taxi - to/from airport, ~45 to 60 min, ~300-500 inr. Shopping - Nearest mall with movie theater, ~30min, ~200 inr. Breakfast is decent international variety. 2 bottles of water provided free per day. Rooms are fairly quiet with the hotel located far enough from the major road to avoid most of the traffic noise. Excellent bedding with two styles of pillows, a big fluffy style and a small low profile style for stomach sleepers like myself. Service is superb!
Hot water is not instant, had to wait about 5min for the water to warm up in the shower.
Arriving at the hotel was like arriving at an oasis. Having driven through the madness of Delhi, the calm and cool of the Amber was very welcome. Our room was large, clean and well appointed, reminiscent of boutique hotels in Europe.
My only problem was that we had to leave very early the next day and had only arrived late, so we didn't have enough time to enjoy the lovely room.
Courteous staff, reasonable rate, the fresh aroma in the lobby, and the rooftop terrace.
The location is too far from any public transport. Huge amount of tax charged at the end with the bill. That was a nasty surprise
I liked everything. the room is comfortable, the bathroom is very good. the hotel is smelly and the cleaning is impeccable. the restaurant serves delicious Indian food and excellent price. I loved the indian breakfast
Very gentle and helpful staff, spacious rooms, nice and modern design, good bed, complimentary bottled water, nice rooftop terrace, breakfast was rich and varied. Fast WLAN (free of charge).
Sometimes some smell from the neighbourhood came into my room, noise from the corridor comes through the door. Could be closer to a subway station (although the taxis are cheap, you always have to take one that will stuck in Delhi traffic).
You feel like at home. Peculiarity: Calm and quite hotel - kidness and helpfullness of the staff
Staff was friendly
The room was very very bad smelling. The windows were looking at the lobby, extremely dark, no natural light at all so u Cannot tell whether it is naught or day!!! No other people around except 2 other couples but they said they have no free rooms!!! So they couldn't change the room... No fresh air in the room and in the breakfast hall. Extra charges that never mentioned. They charged the tax on the standard rate but what we paid for the room was a special rate so we gave 20Usd more than we expected per night. Very bad choice that affected the whole trip...
Very friendly staff in a small hotel with excellent room facilities
Confortable and clean. Good meals.
Far away from almost everything.
Very attentive and friendly personnel, clean, nicely decorated rooms, quiet area. The staff did their utmost to accommodate all our needs, including a late check-out and directions for trips.
The air-conditioning installation needs cleaning. When turning on the airco, the air had a damp, moldy smell. The doors could also use better sound insulation.
The room and overall hotel is clean and staff are friendly but often quite unprofessional (e.g. did not take care of taxi orders, often their English was poor)
Restaurant is in the basement. Not very comfortable. The breakfast was poor for western taste. The room was smaller than in the pictures. The hotel is not very close to anything. Even the subway is a bit too far away to walk there.
This hotel is an oasis of comfort in Delhi. It is located away from the markets and crowds and noise found almost everywhere in the city. It's a five minute auto-rickshaw ride to the Nehru metro station. The staff are extremely helpful and very friendly. The hotel is very modern. It has all the comforts that could be expected: comfortable bed, comfortable pillows, excellent a/c, satellite thin-screen tv, room safe, minibar, laundry service, 24 hour reception, 24 hour room service, and an excellent hotel restaurant. Breakfast is served for four hours every morning - with made to order eggs and/or pancakes along with a wide variety of breakfast foods. I requested a cappuccino every morning and found it to be quite delicious.
This hotel is not within walking distance to any metro station. It is in an area of town (Sukdev Vihar) that very few cab drivers or auto- rickshaw drivers know well. We found that almost every cab driver had to stop and ask for directions from people walking along the street. However, we found the location to be a benefit, not a drawback, because it was so quiet and peaceful in the hotel.
